As our nation continues to face the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we have been carefully considering the best course of action for our patients, office team, and personal family members. We love and care for everyone in our extended mend family, and we owe our incredible practice to all of you!
In order to support the public health efforts in our county, state, and across the country, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily close our office. This decision was not made lightly, as we know many of you rely on our care for your overall health and wellbeing. However, as COVID-19 continues to spread, our local government officials, as well as our state chiropractic board, have set forth directives which we must follow.
Although the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners has deemed chiropractors essential primary health care providers, the unusual circumstances of this outbreak have caused local, state, and federal government officials to implement overriding protocols. This includes limiting our scope to severe acute conditions that may cause a patient to ultimately seek care from an urgent care facility or emergency room. Wellness and chronic-condition care must be postponed at this time. This directive is in place until at least April 3, 2020, but we will stay informed as to any changes in this order.
Our focus has always been to provide the highest quality chiropractic services in an efficient, affordable, and transparent manner in order to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients. We hope this temporary closure will be brief, and we offer our sincerest apologies for this unexpected interruption.
To our extremely valued members, we hope you will ride out this storm with us. While we understand that paying for a service you are unable to use is frustrating, again, we hope this will be short-lived. If you are able to continue your membership in the interim, we will be forever grateful, as we are fighting for our livelihood and the ability to return stronger than ever once normal life resumes. If your financial situation is too difficult, though, please call or email to let us know you that you need to discontinue, which we will happily accommodate.
Please make no mistake, we have not abandoned our community during this difficult time. We can still be reached via our office phone number (please leave a message - we will be monitoring frequently!) or by email at office@visitmend.com.
Below is a summary of the plan we hope to implement moving forward:
Both routine wellness care and mild chronic-condition care must be postponed at this time.
If you are experiencing severe acute symptoms that may lead you to an urgent care facility or emergency room visit, please reach out to us. We will evaluate on a case-by-case basis for appointment-only care.
If you need supplements, please reach out to us for curbside pickup, by appointment only.
We will be checking phone messages and emails frequently, so please don't hesitate to reach out for any healthcare questions or concerns.
We encourage you to take this situation seriously and follow the directives from the CDC, WHO, and all government authorities. Stay home and practice social distancing. We all need to look after one another in this difficult and stressful time.
With love, gratitude, and well wishes,
Your doctors at mend
